Depart from original country and arrive in Lanzhou in the afternoon, the capital city of Gansu province in Northwest China. Visit to the Lanzhou Museum to have the brief understanding of the history of Ganshu. The city is positioned along the Hexi Corridor, historically it was the only route from central China to western China and the rest of Central Asia. Overnight at Lanzhou.
During Day 2 to Day 7, we would travel to the south of Ganshu provice entering the Ganan Tibetan Autonomous Prefectur. Starting from Xiahe county, we begin the journey climbing to altitude above 3300meter above sea and entering the rural Tibetan village. Along the journey, one can enjoy the most scenic landscape. It is believed that the English writer James Hilton had travelled here and wrote the book "Lost Horizon". The travel will take you close to the nature and the opportunity to learn about the culture capturing good pictures of the daily life of the local. On Day 7, we return to Lanzhou and overnight at Lanzhou.
Morning visit to the Waterwheel Expo Garden. Learn about ancient devices that uses flowing or falling water to create power by means of a set of paddles mounted around a wheel, to transfer water from Yellow River to the city of Lanzhou. One could try the traditional sheep skin raft on the Yellow River. The raft has a long history in China, it was first used by the troops as early as the Han Dynasty (206 BCE-220 CE) to carry people across the Yellow River. Taste a local favourite dish, Lanzhou Beef Lamian for lunch. It is a type of a spicy soup with sliced beef, radish, red chili oil and chewy hand-pulled wheat noodles. Transfer to Lanzhou international airport for returning flight, end of the trip.
